This blog will follow my investigations into the life of my grandfather, Samuel Grasse, a Lithuanian Jewish doctor who died in London during WWII. Although he died many years before I was born I hope to find out about him through family stories, documents, photos and websites. I intend gradually to create a permanently accessible resource about his life, which has always been largely unknown to me. By lucky coincidence, a hoard of old photos and documents has recently turned up as a result of a house clearance following a family death and some of these should be helpful in piecing together some information about Samuel’s life.   Constructive comments, clarifications and queries welcome. Kath Greco.
